this type of pottery, paint and varnish, are used in the aquarium ornaments?

you know these vintage pieces? I can not find, so I kind of want to do my Own. What pots should I use, what type of paint and what kind of glaze? I know it must be nontoxic, but what is safe for aquarium use?

There are a lot of clay and glazes that are harmful to fish. Many terra-cotta formulas are high in iron and the iron will eventually seep into the water. Many underglaze and glazes contain copper, chromium, cadmium, magneseum and other chemicals that are lethal to fish. It also depends on what type of aquarium salt or fresh? The safest body of clay would be a white light high-dish stoneware or porcelain dish with a clear glaze safe. I would recommend a clay body that fires to cone 6. Personally, I would not recommend putting anything in a home-made aquarium, especially if you have salt water fish.
