What accent colors to decorate my room? My walls are light yellow and my furniture is dark brown.?

I try to find a color accent to decorate my living room (pillows, vases, etc..) My walls are pale yellow, my furniture is a dark chocolate brown (large stand cutting and tv) and my window curtains are a light tan color mocha. I try to keep a contemporary look. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

a base, light blue means. ... Wedgewood blue or ... or "1980-90's" Blue ... with a little white. Country dark orange-y red accents would be too TIP. Maybe a teeny bit Navy as: well. I'm inspired by looking at wallpaper and prints at the store textle materials (multicolored stripes and flowers) ... you can get an idea of what colors are complementary in that way (hint: look at a picture upside down allows you to concentrate on design aspects and color and not by destracted image). you also get an idea of what color combinations are currently in style. if you want something of older or vintage books, check-out at home in December of the library. hopethis help. Oops ... I did not notice at all ... you say today? hmm ... why not the focus of black and cream?
