Small wood Fired Oven Hobbie home?

Hi everyone I knew in the whole thing of clay, and no one in my area has an oven. Children looking to make pottery and whatnot, and I much prefer the idea of clay and live fire instead of using something like fimo sculpey in the oven. I had a friend who used to cooking in her garden in an old fire pit, children made small pots and bowls and used wood and sawdust for fuel. Ive seen the results and they came very nice! I try to do something of the same and I want to keep small as the greatest thing is bad shot is the size of a kettle. All the plans I've seen the size of a barn! Can anyone help me? And I want it to fire at normal temperature so that it does not leave everything super-fragile. Any help would be great:)

There is a book called, "Alternative methods of fire" described several methods for cooking without an oven of clay. Pit firing, sawdust firing, Raku firing, etc.
